Rustic elegance in a natural setting, Our property offers exclusive privacy for a restorative getaway. Acres of wooded paths for hiking & canoeing on the lake ensures a serene experience.

Escape to a completely private 300 acres and watch the sunset as you fish on the 100 acre lake. Beautifully decorated with Stickley furniture, the natural wood and craftsman touches beckon you to relax, read, canoe, kayak, or enjoy a crackling toasty fire in the wood stove.

This property is unlike any other. It is perfect for the executive who wants to enjoy a country home, but doesn't want to own one... Perfect for the artist who wants to spend a week (or a month) writing the next great novel. Perfect for a warm family reunion, or for the couple who want to lie in a hammock by the stream and read for hours. Our lake is full of sunfish, largemouth bass, and crappies. Beaver, otters, eagles, Canadian geese, bear, quail, skunk, deer, swan, and great blue heron all make their homes in this unique environment. Occasionally we are visited by the loon, and that is a sound to remember forever.

Dotted with antique shops and organic ice cream stops, apple farms, music venues, professional theatres, world famous rock climbing, bike paths and fisheries, our neighborhood has something for everyone!

Our property sleeps 16 guests total- 4 - 5 in the BOATHOUSE, and an additional 12 in the barn. (There is also a campsite that sleeps 4 - available for an extra fee.)

Start with the BOATHOUSE overlooking the private lake. (Sleeps 4-6).

Our Adirondack style boathouse is at once airy, yet warm and cozy. Full of books and games, it is a place for connection and meditation.

Here is where you will gather, cook meals, play games in front of the wood stove, or dance by the outdoor fire-pit. Swim in the lake, shower in the outdoor shower, canoe or kayak, or just relax in the massage chair.

Then, up a small incline, add the rustic BARN for 12 extra sleeping spaces. Here you can play a game of pool in the large bunk room, or read in a cozy armchair.

BARN SLEEPING ACCOMMODATION: Total sleeps 12 persons:

1 large private room: with king bed, cable TV, sink, and lake view porch (sleeps 2)

Great room: with 4 Stickley bunks (sleeps 8), 1 Queen pull-out couch (sleeps 2), 1 Semi-private loft space with queen bed (sleeps 2).

Both the Barn and the Boathouse include wireless internet.

PRICING ADJUSTMENTS:

Barn and Boathouse dual rental is $1,200.00 per night for 10 guests between the two.

For each additional guest over 10, we add a $100 per guest, per night fee.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:

Host will greet you, get you settled, and answer any questions you may have.

Though my private residence is next door, it is off limits to renters and is usually not occupied when guests are renting. Occasionally, we will be on the property during your stay.

We also have a campsite on our property, located approximately a half a mile around the lake from the barn & boathouse, which is available to rent for an addition fee. It is a white canvas tent with a platform blow up bed, and a small wood stove.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

From New York city you can take a train to Middletown New York, (NJ Transit) and then a 25 minute cab ride to our home. Or, catch the bus at Port Authority which lets you off in Wurtsboro - just a 15 minute cab ride away. Schedules are New Jersey transit for the train, and Short Line for the bus.

****PLEASE NOTE: For the safety of our guests, there are EXTERIOR security cameras located around the property. We have a security company that monitors these cameras and will report excessive activity on the property. Please make sure you are adhering to the maximum capacity of the property.

NO PETS. Hypoallergenic dogs will be considered for additional fee of $75. Per night. They may NOT sleep in bedrooms or on bed covers.

For privacy reasons the pin on map is located approximately 5 mins down the road.

Holiday rates are higher. Please inquire with Owner for Holiday, Weekly, Monthly, and Seasonal rates.

A WAIVER OF LIABILITY must be signed prior to arriving for insurance purposes. Photo ID must be provided, as well. Pre approved guests only.

Primary renter must at least 25.

No HUNTING allowed.

Please bring your own fishing poles and tackle if you wish to fish on the lake.

Jet ski NOT available to rent.

Smoking in the house automatically forfeits security deposit.

Propane for gas grill is provided. Firewood is provided.

WEDDINGS/EVENTS - PLEASE NOTE: We are a premiere wedding event space, and charge an event fee. Happy to send photos and answer detailed questions. Serious inquiries only.

Please keep in mind the owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises. We are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
